In addition to a healthy business presence, this Dallas suburb is served by two separate public school districts both of which boast many Blue-Ribbon Schools. Five private schools, grades K-12, lie within the city’s boundaries as well as four charter schools. However, most notable within the education system is the 445-acre campus of the University of Texas at Dallas. Not only is this public research university housed on Richardson soil, but also Richland college, the largest school in the Dallas County Community College District, serves Dallas county and the surrounding areas from the confines of this suburb.

Temperatures range from a high in the 90’s in the heat of summer to a low in the 30’s in the winter.
